Senior Mechanical Construction Administrator
Location – Kelowna, BC
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Mechanical Construction Administrator to support the construction phase of mechanical projects, with a primary focus on HVAC and plumbing systems across hospitals, schools, residential, and high-rise buildings. This role is critical to ensuring mechanical systems are installed in accordance with design intent, contract documents, and applicable codes.

Primary Objective:
The Sr. Mechanical Construction Administrator is responsible for overseeing and administering the mechanical scope of work throughout the construction phase of projects. This includes site reviews, documentation, submittal reviews, deficiency tracking, and coordination to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and to a high standard of quality. This position requires a strong field presence, sound technical judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, consultants, and clients. Prior mechanical design experience is a strong asset.

Job Description:
·       Conduct site reviews of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related mechanical systems.
·       Verify installations comply with drawings, specifications, and municipal, provincial, and national codes.
·       Prepare site review reports, deficiency lists, non-conformance reports, and punch lists.
·       Review drawings and specifications prior to construction.
·       Review and assess contractor submittals for compliance.
·       Respond to RFIs and site queries related to mechanical systems.
·       Coordinate with mechanical contractors, general contractors, architects, and clients to resolve construction issues.
Experience & Qualifications
·       Strong knowledge of mechanical construction practices, including HVAC, plumbing, heating, cooling, air handling, and fire protection systems.
·       Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
·       One of the following is required:
o   Valid trade certification (Plumber, Pipefitter, HVAC or Refrigeration Technician) with multi-family or high-rise experience; or
o   Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology; or
o   Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
·       Minimum 10 years’ experience in mechanical construction administration, field inspection, or similar roles.
·       Strong working knowledge of codes and standards applicable to high-rise commercial and multi-family buildings in BC.
·       Previous mechanical design experience using Revit or AutoCAD is an asset.
·       Proficient in Microsoft Word and Bluebeam Revu.
·       Experience with construction management platforms such as Fieldwire, Procore, Newforma, Autodesk Build and or Part 3.
·       Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·       Organized, detail-oriented, and confident working in an active construction environment.
